About the Course
This course explores the often-overlooked grief of siblings, grandparents, and non-birthing partners after perinatal loss. Learn to recognize disenfranchised grief, initiate age-appropriate conversations, and offer inclusive support that validates all grieving family members across different settings.
Learning Objectives
• Describe the importance of including siblings in the grieving process after perinatal loss. • Identify age specific grief responses and appropriate communication strategies for toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and teens. • Demonstrate effective approaches for guiding parents in preparing and supporting siblings before, during, and after hospital inclusion. • Apply developmentally appropriate, honest, and compassionate language when discussing death, burial, and cremation with children.
